Where Craftsmanship Meets Botanical Art

Painted Gun creates one-of-a-kind firearm stocks adorned with meticulously hand-painted botanical illustrations. Each piece transforms a functional gun stock into a work of fine art — delicate wildflowers, native grasses, and seasonal blooms rendered in rich detail against the warm grain of walnut and maple.

Our Collections

Wildflower Series

Inspired by the meadow flowers of the American West. California poppies, lupines, Indian paintbrush, and shooting stars cascade across the stock in vibrant watercolor-style detail, finished under multiple coats of hand-rubbed protective lacquer.

Heritage Botanicals

Classical botanical illustration meets gunsmithing tradition. Precise, naturalist-style renderings of roses, thistles, dogwood, and magnolia — the kind of detailed artwork that rewards close inspection.

Woodland Collection

Ferns, mosses, mushrooms, and forest floor compositions that complement the natural wood grain beneath. Earthy tones and organic forms that feel like they grew from the stock itself.

Custom Commissions

Work with our artists to create a stock that tells your story. Popular commissions include family estate flowers, regional native plants, memorial pieces, and heirloom designs that mark milestones.

The Process

Every painted stock begins with selecting the right blank — wood species, grain pattern, and stock profile all influence how the painted composition will read. Our artists sketch the design directly on the stock, building up layers of acrylic and oil paint over several days. Each piece receives a minimum of six coats of catalyzed finish for durability in the field.

Care & Durability

Our finishes are designed to withstand handling and moderate field use. Each stock ships with a care guide and a microfiber sleeve. We recommend annual inspection and offer a refinishing service for pieces that see heavy use.
